The tie vote as a tactical choice

Why this matters. A tie can be useful or dangerous, depending on the line-up and the rulebook.

What to do. Before the procedure, count the votes, study the conditions of the re-vote and the consequences of each outcome. In the extra speech, name a specific new reason for your choice.

How it sounds. "Earlier I hesitated between two and eight. Now I compare their actual votes: two supported a clearly mistaken version."

Practice. Model three outcomes of a tie vote and find the decision with the least risk for the red team.
