How an evening works

How a Fortuna Elite Club game evening in Dublin works: meeting people, two tables, three or four games, what to wear and how to sign up.

An evening at the club is simple: you arrive, meet people, play and talk. Here is the order of things.

Three parts of the evening

  1. Meeting people. Guests arrive, drink tea and coffee and get to know each other. You can come early and talk about work and ideas.
  2. Games. Two tables and two hosts. Some play while others chat, then you swap. Most guests play three or four games in an evening.
  3. Talking. Refreshments, conversation, new friends. Many people stay after the last game.

An evening usually lasts about five hours. We give the exact time and place in the announcement for each game.

If it is your first time

The rules are explained in ten minutes before the first game and nobody rushes you. To arrive prepared, read the lesson "What happens at the table": it takes seven minutes. To see what it looks like, have a look at the photos.

What to wear

Smart clothes are welcome: shirts, dresses, hats. Themed evenings have a dress code, for example red and black. The dress code is in the announcement for each evening. Coming in character is optional, but it is more fun.

Language

At present our evenings are held in Russian and Ukrainian.

How to sign up

Sign-up goes through our group on Telegram, where we post announcements for each game, entry terms and how to book. There is no registration on this website: booking happens through Telegram.
