Host checklists
For referees and hosts · 1 min readWork in progress
Before the game: checklist
- Approve a specific edition of the rules and a text the players can read.
- Check the table, numbering, masks, cards, timer and the referee's sheet.
- Explain the difference between a game foul, a tournament penalty and a club rating penalty.
- Say how candidates are accepted, how to vote and what to do in a tie.
- Announce the order of questions and of reviewing disputed decisions after the game.
During the speeches
- Start the timer and announce the end of time in the same way for everyone.
- Record an accepted candidacy at once, without relying on memory.
- Note a forbidden speech, gesture or touch by the fact of the action, not by sympathy for the player.
- Do not hint at the meaning of what was said and do not reveal hidden information.
- Where necessary, record the grounds for a penalty with a reference to the specific rule.
During the vote: the referee's algorithm
- Check the list of nominated candidates and their order.
- Clearly announce the start and the rules for taking votes.
- Record hands and count the votes for each candidate.
- Do not change the procedure because of the players' reactions.
- In a tie, move to the officially provided mechanism; do not improvise.
- Write the result, the players who left and the violations in the protocol.
