Principles of refereeing
Principle 1. Observation ≠ interpretation
Write "player no. 6 spoke after the minute ended", not "no. 6 interfered on purpose". A decision on a penalty is made under a specific clause of the rules.
Principle 2. Nomination ≠ vote
A nomination is a proposal to put a player to the vote. A vote is a separate action in the phase of taking votes. A player may nominate one candidate and vote for another, if the procedure allows it.
Principle 3. A foul ≠ a minus in the club rating
A game warning, a disqualification and a rating score are different systems. Do not automatically turn any remark into an arbitrary minus to season points.
Principle 4. A tie vote ≠ automatic removal of several players
Equal votes start the procedure provided by the rulebook; the host must not invent the outcome from memory.
Principle 5. The rulebook first, club habit second
If the usual Fortuna procedure differs from an official tournament, announce the chosen format clearly before the game. Do not change the rules in the middle of a game.
