Gestures: the language of numbers and roles

Why this matters. Non-verbal communication can help pass positions, but not all gestures are allowed at every tournament.

What to do. Learn an unambiguous way to show the numbers 1 to 10, and the signs for "red/black", "check" and "question" within the permitted rules. On the zero night, practise passing a sequence silently; by day, do not use gestures in the forbidden phases.

How it sounds. "A study exercise: show number 10, then number 3, then indicate the order of the first and second targets."

Practice. In pairs, pass 12 combinations and check that they were understood.

Typical mistakes. Mixing club conventions with officially permitted actions.
